The doors to our No Regrets Chapel are now open. Strictly non-sectarian, our chapel is an inclusive place where everyone is welcome. When a couple have decided that the time has arrived to express their commitment and love for one another, the moment is right to enter the chapel.
Celebrating this joyous occasion, we have reached out to real-life couples of the No Regrets Chapel to hear their story.
MEET CAROLINE & ARNAUD
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO STEPHEN WEBSTER?A: I have always been an admirer of Stephen’s designs, his craftsmanship and his incredible sense of style. He is a friend of mine but also as a professional, I have always been a big fan of his work and creativity.
WHAT WAS THE BRIEF TO THE DESIGN TEAM?
A: The first significant piece I ordered from Stephen was an engagement ring for my wife and, in my head, I wanted it to be a very classic Emerald Cut Diamond piece with a very simple design. Stephen came straight to mind when I first thought about designing the ring. Then, Stephen and I climbed Kilimanjaro together and as we were climbing the mountain, it made me think that Stephen is the only person who could design the most important piece of jewellery for my wife, it had to be him, even if it was a simple design with a very specific craftsmanship. So, we discussed together how we could create the most magical detailed ring with his touch without changing the classic style of this very simple and beautiful ring.
WHAT WERE YOU LOOKING FOR?
A: Although this ring is the opposite to what Stephen does, the ring had to disappear within the stone, the stone had to be the masterpiece of this ring.
WHAT WAS THE FINAL RESULT?
A: The final result was exactly what I wanted. A stunning stone that we found in Antwerp and two beautiful baguettes on each side. As this was our first collaboration, Stephen really followed what I wanted, but he also made it his own by adding some small, discrete design details (which could only be achieved with Stephen Webster’s immaculate eye for detail). Also, on the back of the ring there is the ‘Webster tail’.
HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN YOU GOT YOUR FINISHED RING?
A: I fell in love with the ring from the moment we started until the final result, it was such a special and meaningful journey. Despite not being the type of ring that Stephen normally designs, he is actually the best person to make these kind of rings; as simplicity often requires a lot of particular techniques and that is exactly what Stephen did - every step of the way. I am so glad I chose Stephen.
C: The stone is so pure... It is a ring that I will wear indefinitely and will also age beautifully.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE PIECE NOW?
A: Simplicity, excellence, purity, forever and happiness.
