Special thank you to Bastien Bernini, for the shots of Barthélémy Toguo in his studio.
Stephen Webster is proud to announce a collaborative exhibition at our Mount Street Salon, Mayfair, with African artist Barthélémy Toguo and HdM Gallery.
Purification XXIX, ink on paper, 113 x 113 cm 2010.
Barthélémy Toguo, born in 1967 in M'Balmayo, Cameroon works with watercolor, painting, sculpture, photography, installation and performance art to question our humanity. Through his creations at the crossroads of cultures, Toguo explores the dysfunctions of the world in order to better denounce it and questions the status of foreigners, migrants, immigrants and the difficulty for them to build an identity. The work of Tugo creates a simple aesthetic that references the nature of beauty and pain.
Hanging on the walls of the Mount Street Boutique the exhibition creates an immersive experience complimented by the Stephen Webster’s new Thorn Embrace collection, celebrating a new era of modern romance. Fuelled by Webster’s long addiction with the ‘thorn’, this darkly romantic collection depicts Hollywood glamour with dramatic pairings of Diamonds, Emeralds, Spinels, Tanzanites, Tourmalines, and Garnets, across a range of Cocktail Rings, Earrings, Chockers, Pendants and Bracelets. Crafted in 18ct recycled gold, with black or white Diamond pavé.

Both Webster and Tuogo’s creative genius combined is an exhibition not to be missed.
Exhibition open exclusively 7th-13th October, Monday – Friday 10-6pm.
