Inspired by mysterious nocturnal winged creatures, we are often asked if the central motif is a butterfly, moth, or bat? We leave this up to your own interpretation.
Originating from a brooch featuring mini 'fly-by-nights' dancing in a fantasy Diamond Forest, the range has evolved into a mesmerising array of winged beings. A key moment in its metamorphosis was the introduction of our signature Crystal Haze technique to the design; bringing to the forefront the spectrum of colours of the gemstone that lies beneath.
In 2014, ‘Fly By Night’ evolved to a Tiara, designed in collaboration with Swarovski, for 175 debutantes to wear during the Vienna State Opera Ball. The collaboration offered a unique opportunity to allow our imagination to run wild, free from any of the constraints of precious jewellery, which resulted in a spectacular and contemporary piece.
The ‘Fly By Night Large Cocktail Ring’ has been a best-seller since it’s conception. Crated in 18 carat Gold and intricately set with Diamond pavé, the collection offers Crystal Haze variations in Black Opalescent, Mother of Pearl, and Pink Opal Crystal Haze. Glamourous, with a distinctive edge, the cocktail ring guarantees to attract attention from afar.
Crystal Haze is a signature concept created by Stephen Webster, whereby two stones are layered and bonded together. The top layer is a heavily faceted natural clear Quartz, acting as a magnifying lens to enhance the colour of the underlying opaque precious stone.
Over the years, ‘Fly By Night’ has been worn by many celebrities, favoured for its eye-catching design and vibrant injections of colour. To name a few: Doja Cat, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Jennie Ruby Jane, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Because of the success of the collection to date – this story has definitely not ended...
